SG Pipers Dominate Ranchi Royals 2-0 in Women’s HIL Opener

SG Pipers began their Women’s Hockey India League 2025–26 campaign in emphatic fashion, defeating Ranchi Royals 2-0 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Stadium in Ranchi.

A resolute defence led by Udita, Jyoti Singh and Spain’s Lola Riera blunted sustained home pressure, while goalkeeper Bansari Solanki starred with crucial saves. Captain Navneet Kaur broke the deadlock with a powerful penalty-corner strike before half-time. The Pipers controlled proceedings thereafter, and Uruguay’s Teresa Viana sealed victory with a late goal, ensuring a clean-sheet win and a confident start to the season.
