Gus Atkinson Ruled Out of Final Ashes Test with Hamstring Injury

England fast bowler Gus Atkinson has been ruled out of the fifth and final Ashes Test against Australia due to a left hamstring injury, making him the third England pacer to leave the tour early. The Surrey right-armer was injured on day two of the fourth Test in Melbourne and did not return to the field.

The England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed scans revealed the injury. No replacement will be added to the squad, leaving Matthew Potts or Matthew Fisher as options. England trail the series 3-1 heading into the Sydney Test.
