Seema Kaliramna Wins Bronze in Women’s Discus Throw at Commonwealth Games 2026

Seema Kaliramna Commonwealth Games bronze

India’s Seema Kaliramna clinched the bronze medal in the women’s discus throw at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a best effort of 58.65m.

Despite managing only two valid throws in six attempts, Seema’s third-round throw proved enough to secure a podium finish after three successive fouls. Fellow Indian Nidhi Rani narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth with 57.10m. Jamaica’s Samantha Hall created history by winning her country’s first-ever Commonwealth gold in women’s discus, while Canada’s Julia Tunks claimed silver. Elsewhere, India endured disappointment as Asian Games champion Tajinderpal Singh Toor finished fifth in the men’s shot put, while Parul Chaudhary ended 13th in the women’s 5000m, missing out on medal contention.
