NorthEast United Beat Mohammedan SC 2-0 To End ISL 2025-26 Season On High
NorthEast United FC ended their Indian Super League 2025-26 season on a winning note with a convincing 2-0 victory over relegated Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Jairo Samperio opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a well-placed header from Jithin M.S’ corner, while Dinesh Singh Soraisham doubled the lead in first-half stoppage time with a deflected long-range strike. The Highlanders controlled most of the contest, creating several opportunities through Jithin and Andres Jose Rodriguez Gaitan. Mohammedan SC showed attacking intent through Adison Singh and Rochharzela but failed to break down NorthEast’s organised defence.
The win lifted NorthEast United to ninth place with 16 points, while Mohammedan ended the season bottom without registering a single victory.
