LeBron James Leaves Los Angeles Lakers Ahead of Historic 24th NBA Season
LeBron James will return for a record-breaking 24th NBA season but will not do so with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 41-year-old officially bid farewell after eight seasons, thanking the franchise and its fans following confirmation from Lakers co-owner Jeanie Buss. James, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, guided the Lakers to the 2020 championship and broke the league’s all-time scoring record during his stint in Los Angeles. As free agency opens, speculation has intensified over his next destination, with Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors among the reported contenders.
James averaged 20.9 points last season and remains one of basketball’s elite performers.
