Jos Buttler became the highest run-scorer in T20 history after surpassing Kieron Pollard during Manchester Super Giants’ nine-wicket win over Welsh Fire in The Hundred.
Buttler smashed an unbeaten 51 off 20 balls, taking his career tally to 14,833 runs in 522 T20 matches, overtaking Pollard’s 14,803. Chris Gayle is third with 14,562 runs.
Chasing 156, Manchester Super Giants cruised home thanks to Tim Seifert’s unbeaten 62, Paul Walter’s 37 and Buttler’s explosive knock. The innings was Buttler’s fourth fifty in six matches this season, making him the joint-record holder for most fifties in a single edition of The Hundred.
