Joao Fonseca storms into Munich Open quarter-finals
Brazil’s Joao Fonseca continued his impressive clay-court form with a commanding win over Arthur Rinderknech to reach the Munich Open quarter-finals.
The 19-year-old secured a 6-3, 6-2 victory, marking his second straight ATP Tour quarter-final appearance. Fonseca dominated from the baseline, showcasing consistency and composure while saving all nine break points he faced. He highlighted a crucial service game at 3-2, where he recovered from 0/40 to maintain momentum.
Having recently beaten Rinderknech at the Monte Carlo Masters, Fonseca’s confidence continues to grow. He will next face either Ben Shelton or Alexander Blockx for a semi-final spot.
