India stormed into the men’s hockey semifinals at the 2026 Asian Games with a perfect group-stage record after thrashing Bangladesh 10-0 on Monday to finish top of Pool A.
The defending champions collected 15 points from five matches, winning every game in emphatic fashion. India will now face Pakistan, who finished second in Pool B with 12 points, in the semifinal. Abhishek opened the scoring in the third minute with a reverse-stick finish before Jugraj Singh converted a penalty stroke in the 22nd minute.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh then scored from a penalty corner to give India a 3-0 lead at half-time. India stepped up the pressure after the break, with Sukhjeet Singh and Harmanpreet adding goals before Shilanand Lakra scored twice.
Harmanpreet completed his hat-trick with another penalty-corner conversion, while Sanjay added the ninth goal. Mandeep Singh completed the rout in the final minute.
The victory extended India’s unbeaten Asian Games record against Bangladesh to seven wins. India will now meet Pakistan in a highly anticipated semifinal clash.
