France stun India to enter maiden Thomas Cup final
India suffered a shocking 0-3 defeat to France in the Thomas Cup 2026 semifinal in Horsens, Denmark, ending their title defence and settling for bronze. France created history by reaching their maiden Thomas Cup final.
India were hit hard by the absence of Lakshya Sen, who withdrew with an elbow injury sustained in the quarterfinals. Replacing him, Ayush Shetty lost to Christo Popov in straight games. Kidambi Srikanth then went down to Alex Lanier before HS Prannoy lost a hard-fought clash against Toma Junior Popov.
India’s campaign ended in the semifinals, while France moved one step closer to a historic title.
