Taijul Islam Stars As Bangladesh Sweep Pakistan 2-0 With Historic Test Series Win

Bangladesh created history by defeating Pakistan by 78 runs in the second Test at Sylhet on Wednesday to complete a memorable 2-0 series sweep.

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam starred with six wickets in the second innings as Pakistan were bowled out for 328 while chasing a record 437-run target. Mohammad Rizwan fought hard with a valiant 94, but Bangladesh’s disciplined bowling attack proved too strong on the final day. Taijul finished with match figures of 9 wickets, including 6-120 in the second innings. Mushfiqur Rahim’s brilliant 137 and Litton Das’ scores of 126 and 69 played crucial roles in Bangladesh’s victory.

The triumph marked Bangladesh’s first-ever home Test series win over Pakistan and followed their 2-0 sweep in Pakistan during the 2024 tour.
