Anthony Edwards returns as Minnesota Timberwolves edge San Antonio Spurs in playoff thriller

NBA Finals: Knicks Aim for Stronger Start Against Spurs in Crucial Game 4

Anthony Edwards returned from injury to help the Minnesota Timberwolves stun the San Antonio Spurs 104-102 in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals.

Coming off the bench after missing two games with a knee injury, Edwards scored 18 crucial points, while Julius Randle led Minnesota with 21. The Timberwolves also had four other players in double figures in a strong team effort.

Despite the defeat, Victor Wembanyama produced a historic defensive display with 12 blocks — an NBA postseason record — along with 15 rebounds and 11 points. San Antonio’s late buzzer-beater attempt missed, handing Minnesota a crucial road win.
