Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Daniel Vettori admitted his team’s bowling lacked discipline in their six-wicket loss to RCB in the IPL 2026 opener. Despite posting 201, SRH failed to contain RCB’s aggressive batting, led by Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal.
Vettori said his bowlers missed key lengths and allowed too many scoring opportunities. He praised Padikkal’s intent, which shifted momentum early in the chase. While David Payne impressed with two wickets after a tough start, Vettori highlighted Harsh Dubey’s potential as a bright spot.
He remained confident in SRH’s batting depth and believes improvements in execution will be crucial ahead of their next clash against KKR.
