Uruguay women’s team defeated Austria 3-0, while Wales beat South Korea 2-1 in the 5–8th place matches of the FIH Hockey World Cup Qualifiers 2026 in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the Indian team shifted focus to the semi-final against Italy after topping Pool B with seven points. India began the tournament with a 4-0 win over Uruguay, followed by a 2-2 draw with Scotland and a 4-1 victory against Wales.
Forward Navneet Kaur has been in outstanding form, currently joint top-scorer with four goals in the tournament.
