India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson credited legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar for guiding him through setbacks during his remarkable campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Samson revealed he had been in constant touch with Tendulkar over the past few months, seeking advice on mindset, preparation and game awareness. The Kerala batter, who did not play a match in India’s 2024 title win, made a stunning comeback in 2026 with crucial knocks of 97*, 89 and 88 in the knockout stages. He finished the tournament as Player of the Tournament with 321 runs at an impressive strike rate.
Samson described the achievement as a dream come true after years of hard work, belief and perseverance.
