Sri Lanka registered a commanding 105-run victory over Oman in their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Group B clash at Pallekele.
Half-centuries from Pavan Rathnayake (60), Kusal Mendis (61) and skipper Dasun Shanaka (50 off 20) powered the hosts to a massive 225/5. In reply, Oman struggled early and never recovered despite Mohammad Nadeem’s unbeaten 53, finishing at 120/9. Dushmantha Chameera (2-19) and Maheesh Theekshana (2-11) led a disciplined bowling effort.
The comprehensive win underlined Sri Lanka’s dominance with both bat and ball in front of their home crowd.
