Japanese prodigy Tokito Oda created history by defeating Martin De la Puente 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 to win the Australian Open 2026 men’s wheelchair singles title.
At just 19, Oda became the youngest man across any professional tennis format to simultaneously hold all four Grand Slam titles. The world No.1 claimed his second Australian Open crown and eighth major overall, also lifting the doubles trophy with Gustavo Fernandez.
Joining legend Shingo Kunieda as only the second man to win four consecutive wheelchair majors, Oda’s triumph during the tournament’s 50th anniversary highlighted the rapid rise and bright future of wheelchair tennis.
