World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka continued her dominant run at the Australian Open, defeating Victoria Mboko 6-1, 7-6(1) to reach the quarterfinals for a fourth straight year.
Sabalenka notched her 13th consecutive Grand Slam quarterfinal and moved closer to a third Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup. After racing to a commanding lead, the top seed faced resistance in the second set but once again thrived in a tiebreak, winning her 20th straight at Grand Slam level — a new record.
Sabalenka sealed the win in 1 hour and 26 minutes and will next face Iva Jovic for a semifinal spot.
