Djokovic defeated qualifier Francesco Maestrelli 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 to move within one victory of a historic 400 Grand Slam match wins milestone. Musetti beat fellow Italian Lorenzo Sonego 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 to register his best result at Melbourne Park so far.
Meanwhile, Shelton matched Djokovic’s scoreline in a 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 win over Dane Sweeny, firing 19 aces in the process.
