Sherfane Rutherford top-scored with an unbeaten 42, while Capitals’ bowlers delivered a collective masterclass. Lungi Ngidi, Lizaad Williams, Gideon Peters and Keshav Maharaj combined to restrict the Royals to 117/6. David Miller’s 45 briefly raised hopes, but tight bowling at the death sealed the result.
The win lifted Capitals to 15 points, placing them third on the table ahead of the Royals on net run rate.
