ECB Launches Review After England’s Ashes Defeat

T20 World Cup 2026: Nepal Appoint Ian Harvey as Bowling Consultant

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched a “thorough” review following England’s 4–1 Ashes series defeat in Australia.

Chief executive Richard Gould called the outcome “deeply disappointing” but acknowledged the team’s resilience in the fourth Test. The review will examine tour planning, preparation, individual performance, and off-field behaviour. While captain Ben Stokes is expected to remain, the roles of head of cricket Rob Key and coach Brendon McCullum will be scrutinised.

Gould said lessons would be implemented ahead of England’s next Tests and the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
