Drafted in as a late replacement, Shafali starred with a fluent 87 off 78 balls, the highest score by an Indian opener in a World Cup final, and added a record 100-run stand with Smriti Mandhana as India posted 298/7. She then chipped in with two crucial wickets, finishing with 2/36, to cap a memorable performance that helped India clinch a historic World Cup triumph.
