Messi arrived at the venue around 11:15 am and stayed briefly, but heavy security presence and mismanagement blocked visibility. Angry fans threw chairs and bottles, forcing organisers to cut short the programme and whisk Messi away without a full stadium lap.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee apologised and ordered a judicial enquiry into the incident, calling the mismanagement shocking and unacceptable.
