Andre Russell has announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League ahead of the December 16 mini auction, ending a celebrated 12-season IPL career.
The West Indies all-rounder confirmed he will transition into coaching, joining Kolkata Knight Riders’ support staff as POWER Coach for 2026. In 140 IPL matches, Russell scored 2,651 runs at a stunning 174.18 strike rate and took 123 wickets, including a best of 5/15. He debuted in 2012 with Delhi before moving to KKR in 2014, playing 133 games for the franchise and winning titles in 2014 and 2024. Despite a modest 2025 season, he steps away on his own terms, aiming to leave a lasting legacy.
