Zimbabwe Beat Bangladesh by 25 Runs as Richard Ngarava Stars on Captaincy Debut
Richard Ngarava enjoyed a memorable debut as Zimbabwe’s ODI captain, guiding his side to a 25-run victory over Bangladesh in the opening match of the three-game series in Harare.
Ngarava contributed 27 runs and claimed 3/31 after Zimbabwe were bowled out for 141. Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana starred with a career-best 6/21, the best ODI figures by a Bangladeshi bowler, but the visitors failed to capitalize as they were dismissed for just 116. Newman Nyamhuri top-scored with 33 for Zimbabwe and later took two wickets, while Brad Evans also claimed 3/34.
Nurul Hasan (31) and Towhid Hridoy (25) offered resistance, but Bangladesh’s batting collapsed under disciplined Zimbabwe bowling.
