Greaves, Hope Tons Keep West Indies Alive Against Sri Lanka in 2nd Test
Justin Greaves and Shai Hope produced magnificent centuries to steer the West Indies towards safety on Day 4 of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Antigua.
Their 242-run fifth-wicket partnership helped the hosts finish their first innings on 500, just 49 runs short of Sri Lanka’s 549/9 declared. Hope scored a patient 112 before a bizarre stumping ended his resistance, while Greaves carried on to a superb 180 from 325 deliveries. Asitha Fernando starred with the ball for Sri Lanka, claiming 5/130.
In the second innings, Sri Lanka reached 92/2 at stumps, leading by 142 runs with Dinesh Chandimal (40) and Kamindu Mendis (30) unbeaten. The final day promises an intriguing battle over possible declaration tactics.
