WI vs PAK 1st Test Day 1
Kavem Hodge produced a gritty unbeaten 83 to steer West Indies to 194/3 at stumps on a rain-affected opening day of the first Test against Pakistan at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad.
After skipper Roston Chase elected to bat, persistent rain limited play, but Hodge anchored the innings with a patient knock off 181 balls. Shai Hope remained unbeaten on 39 as the duo stitched together an unbroken 88-run partnership for the fourth wicket after West Indies slipped to 106/3. Mohammad Abbass was Pakistan’s standout bowler with figures of 2/44, while Aamer Jamal claimed the other wicket.
Despite disciplined bowling, Pakistan struggled to make further breakthroughs on a slow, batting-friendly surface.
