West Indies U19 Start Campaign With Win Over Tanzania

Former champions West Indies made a winning start to their ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup campaign, defeating Tanzania by five wickets at the High Performance Oval in Windhoek, Namibia.

After opting to bowl, the Windies restricted Tanzania to 121, with skipper Vitel Lawes leading the bowling effort after an early opening stand. In reply, Tanez Francis starred with a composed half-century, adding an 80-run stand with Jewel Andrew to steady the chase.

Despite a brief wobble, West Indies reached the target comfortably to top Group D. Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe–Scotland match in Harare was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
