West Indies Miss Direct Qualification For 2027 ODI World Cup, Face Qualifier

West Indies will need to play the 2027 ODI World Cup Qualifier after missing out on direct qualification. The two-time champions are currently ranked 10th and cannot break into the top eight by the September 30, 2026 cut-off, even with two wins against India.

Afghanistan secured direct qualification after beating Ireland. West Indies also missed the 2023 World Cup after finishing fifth in the Qualifier Super Six, their first-ever absence from the tournament.

The 2027 Qualifier, scheduled for February next year, will feature West Indies, Ireland, four Cricket World Cup League 2 teams and four sides from the Qualifier Playoff.
