Afghanistan Qualify For 2027 ODI World Cup After Three-Wicket Win Over Ireland

Afghanistan secured a three-wicket victory over Ireland to qualify for the 2027 ODI World Cup in Southern Africa. The win gave Afghanistan a 2-0 lead in the five-match series and confirmed their fourth consecutive World Cup appearance.

Ireland were bowled out for 206, with Rashid Khan and AM Ghazanfar taking three wickets each. Gavin Hoey starred for Ireland, claiming 4/34 and scoring 36 during a crucial 76-run ninth-wicket partnership with Jai Moondra (31).

Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored with 71 during Afghanistan’s chase. Despite losing wickets regularly, Rashid remained unbeaten on 37 and guided Afghanistan to victory in the 45th over.
