Virat Kohli admits fitness concerns despite guiding Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win

Virat Kohli admitted he is not fully fit despite starring in Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s five-wicket win over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026.

Kohli scored a fluent 49 in the chase of 147 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, helping RCB return to the top of the points table. He revealed he has been dealing with a sore knee and illness over the past few days but was pleased with his intensity. Kohli said adapting to conditions was key, as the surface played slower than usual. He emphasised aggressive powerplay batting to take control early.

The former skipper also highlighted the importance of situational awareness in modern T20 cricket.
