Victor Wembanyama leads Spurs past Thunder, sets up NBA Finals clash with Knicks
Victor Wembanyama starred as the San Antonio Spurs defeated the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals to reach the NBA Finals.
Wembanyama finished with 22 points and seven rebounds, while Julian Champagnie added 20 points and Stephon Castle contributed 16. The Spurs won the series 4-3 and will now face the New York Knicks in the championship series beginning Wednesday in San Antonio. Oklahoma City’s challenge was led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who scored a game-high 35 points, but the Thunder could not overcome San Antonio’s control for most of the contest.
It will be Wembanyama’s first NBA Finals appearance.
