Venus Williams, Alexandrova Exit Australian Open Doubles Early
American legend Venus Williams and Ekaterina Alexandrova exited the women’s doubles in the first round of the 2026 Australian Open after a 6-3(3), 6-4 loss to Elsa Jacquemot and Emiliana Arango.
The defeat ended Venus’ Melbourne campaign following her singles loss to Olga Danilovic. Making her first Australian Open appearance since 2021, Williams became the oldest woman in a main draw.
A seven-time Grand Slam singles champion, Venus owns four Australian Open doubles titles with sister Serena and boasts a 54-21 win-loss record at Melbourne Park.
