Bangladesh Pull Out of T20 World Cup After Refusing India Travel
Bangladesh risk being expelled from next month’s T20 World Cup after refusing to play their scheduled matches in India, citing security concerns.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board has asked the ICC to relocate their fixtures to co-host Sri Lanka, but talks in Dhaka ended without agreement. Reports say the ICC has set a Wednesday deadline, warning Bangladesh they could be replaced by Scotland if they do not comply. Bangladesh are drawn in Group C with England and are slated to play in Kolkata and Mumbai.
The standoff comes amid strained India-Bangladesh relations following political unrest in Dhaka.
