Dragons Hold Nerve to Beat Soorma, Go Top of Men’s HIL Table
The Accord Tamil Nadu Dragons climbed to the top of the Men’s Hockey India League table with a hard-fought 3–2 win over Soorma Hockey Club in Chennai.
Selvaraj Kanagaraj and Uttam Singh struck late in the second quarter to give the hosts a 2–0 halftime lead. Soorma responded through Maninder Singh before Blake Govers restored the Dragons’ cushion in the fourth quarter. Captain Harmanpreet Singh’s late goal kept Soorma in the contest, but the Dragons defended resolutely under pressure.
The victory, earned through disciplined defence and clinical finishing, moved the Dragons to five points and reinforced their title credentials.
