Spain Beat Argentina 2–1 to Reach Junior Hockey World Cup Final
Spain became the first team to enter the FIH Men’s Hockey Junior World Cup 2025 final after a 2-1 win over Argentina at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Sunday.
Mario Mena opened the scoring in the seventh minute, capitalising on a rebound from a penalty corner. Argentina equalised in the 20th minute through Juan Fernandez’s smart deflection. Both teams battled hard in a tense second half, with Argentina pushing forward and even substituting their goalkeeper for an extra outfield player. A late penalty corner offered hope, but a video referral denied them as Spain sealed their place in the grand finale.
