India captain Shreyas Iyer praised his bowlers for their clarity and execution after the hosts defended 223 to beat West Indies by 14 runs in the third T20I at the Holkar Stadium on Sunday.
Arshdeep Singh led the attack with figures of 3/44 as India restricted West Indies to 209/7, taking a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Iyer highlighted the bowlers’ confidence and ability to execute their plans, particularly with yorkers during the death overs. He also credited the dew-free conditions for helping India maintain control.
The skipper praised Abhishek Sharma’s 69, Ishan Kishan’s 37 and Prince Yadav’s unbeaten 13, saying their contributions helped India post a competitive total. West Indies captain Shai Hope admitted his bowlers could have executed better and conceded too many boundaries. However, he praised his team’s fightback after India’s strong start.
Hope also stressed the need for a stronger opening partnership, while refusing to single out individual batters. West Indies will look to bounce back in the fourth T20I.
