India Beat West Indies By 8 Wickets In 1st T20I

India captain Shreyas Iyer produced a sensational unbeaten 102 off 43 balls as India defeated West Indies by eight wickets in the first T20I in Lucknow.

Chasing 172, India raced to 174/2 in just 14.4 overs to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. Iyer smashed his maiden T20I century from 42 balls, the fastest by an Indian against West Indies in the format. He also became only the third Indian men’s T20I captain to score a century after Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. His innings featured 11 fours and five sixes. Ishan Kishan provided excellent support with 37 off 27 balls as the pair added 137 runs. Kishan also completed 3,000 international runs.

Earlier, T20I debutant Naman Dhir impressed with 3/31 as India bowled West Indies out for 171. Sherfane Rutherford top-scored with 56 off 31, while Shai Hope made 52. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav claimed two wickets each.
