Shemaine Campbelle produced a magnificent unbeaten 90 to lead West Indies Women to a thrilling seven-wicket victory over New Zealand Women in their opening ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match.

Chasing 163, the West Indies reached the target with just one ball remaining, recording the second-highest successful run chase in Women’s T20 World Cup history. Campbelle starred with seven fours and three sixes in her career-best T20I score, guiding her side to a memorable win and avenging their defeat to New Zealand in the 2024 World Cup semi-final. Earlier, New Zealand posted 162/6, with Maddy Green scoring an unbeaten 35.
