Shan Masood to Step Down as Pakistan Test Captain, Joins PCB as Consultant
Pakistan Test captain Shan Masood has decided to step down from his role after the team’s defeat to South Africa in Rawalpindi and will soon join the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as consultant for international cricket.
PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi made the announcement at a reception hosted by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. Naqvi confirmed Masood’s appointment as director of international cricket, a move that reportedly violates PCB’s constitution since Masood remains an active player. The current director, Usman Wahla, was suspended during the Asia Cup, and the position had been open for applications until next week.
