Scotland secured their first-ever victory in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup with a convincing 40-run win over Ireland at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Captain Kathryn Bryce starred with a brilliant all-round performance, scoring 60 off 39 balls and taking 2/19. Alongside sister Sarah Bryce (49), she shared a crucial 106-run partnership that helped Scotland post 161/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Ireland started steadily through Amy Hunter (39) and Gaby Lewis, but Scotland’s spinners turned the game decisively. Kirstie Gordon claimed 3/16, including three wickets in one over, while Katherine Fraser finished with 3/18.

Ireland collapsed to 121 all out in 19.2 overs, handing Scotland a memorable and historic World Cup triumph.
