Sanju Samson credits calm approach after match-winning knock for Chennai Super Kings

Sanju Samson credited his calm mindset and simple approach after steering Chennai Super Kings to a crucial eight-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026.

Samson smashed an unbeaten 87 off 52 balls and stitched a match-winning 114-run partnership with youngster Kartik Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 41. The wicketkeeper-batter said sticking to basics and trusting his instincts have helped him deliver consistently this season.

Samson revealed he assessed the conditions carefully and was confident of accelerating in the middle overs against spin. He also admitted the team’s win mattered more than chasing a personal milestone like a century.
