East Bengal FC rally past Mumbai City FC to go top of ISL table
East Bengal FC staged a brilliant second-half comeback to beat Mumbai City FC 2-1 in the Indian Super League at the Mumbai Football Arena on Tuesday.
Brandon Fernandes gave Mumbai the lead in the eighth minute, finishing smartly after a long throw created chaos in the box. However, East Bengal responded strongly after the break as substitute Youssef Ezzejjari converted from the penalty spot in the 58th minute.
The winner came through Nandha Kumar in the 71st minute, sealing three vital points and sending East Bengal to the top of the table on goal difference.
