Mushfiqur Rahim’s Record Century Puts Bangladesh in Command Against Pakistan
Veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim produced a magnificent century as Bangladesh tightened their grip on the second Test against Pakistan in Sylhet on Monday.
The experienced batter scored 137, while Litton Das added a crucial 69, helping Bangladesh post 390 in their second innings and set Pakistan a daunting target of 427 runs. Mushfiqur’s knock was historic as he registered his 14th Test century, surpassing Mominul Haque’s record for the most Test hundreds by a Bangladeshi batter. Pakistan openers Azan Awais and Abdullah Fazal survived the final two overs before bad light ended play.
Pakistan now require a record chase to level the two-match series after losing the opening Test to Bangladesh earlier this week.
