West Indies tour of New Zealand 2025 second test
Mitch Hay’s fluent 61 on Test debut lifted New Zealand to a 41-run lead over the West Indies on day two in Wellington.
The hosts were bowled out for 278 in reply to the visitors’ 205, with Hay and Daryl Mitchell adding a crucial 73-run stand. Devon Conway made 60, while Anderson Phillip impressed with 3-70. By stumps, the West Indies were 32-2, with Michael Rae and Jacob Duffy striking in fading light. Earlier, Kane Williamson contributed 37, but Blair Tickner’s shoulder injury ruled him out of the match.
The first Test had ended in a draw.
