Pooran–Waseem Partnership Powers MI Emirates to 8-Wicket Win, Seals Playoff Spot

MI Emirates sealed their playoff berth with a dominant eight-wicket victory over the Gulf Giants at the Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Chasing 142, they were in early trouble at 2/2, but Nicholas Pooran and Muhammad Waseem produced a brilliant unbeaten 140-run stand off just 89 balls to take their side home with 21 balls to spare. Waseem anchored the chase with 59* off 42, while Pooran smashed 69* off 49 with six sixes. Earlier, MI Emirates’ bowlers restricted the Giants to 141/6 despite Moeen Ali’s fighting 51, with Romario Shepherd, Fazalhaq Farooqi and Arab Gul delivering key breakthroughs.
