India Beat Afghanistan by Innings and 300 Runs
India registered their biggest-ever Test victory by defeating Afghanistan by an innings and 300 runs in the one-off Test at the New PCA Stadium.
Debutant left-arm spinner Manav Suthar produced a dream performance, claiming 6/33 in Afghanistan’s first innings and finishing as the standout performer. India had earlier piled up 564/8 declared, powered by centuries from captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, along with valuable contributions from Sai Sudharsan, Rishabh Pant and Washington Sundar. Afghanistan were bowled out for 152 and, after being forced to follow on, managed only 112 in their second innings.
Washington Sundar took four wickets in the second innings as India completed a dominant three-day victory.
