Lovepreet Singh Wins Commonwealth Games 2026 Weightlifting Silver
India’s Lovepreet Singh secured a silver medal in the men’s +110kg weightlifting event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games after an impressive performance that saw him miss gold by just 1kg.
Lovepreet finished with a combined lift of 388kg, while New Zealand’s David Liti claimed gold with 389kg. England’s Andrew Griffiths took bronze with 356kg. The Indian heavyweight lifted 176kg in the snatch before successfully clearing 205kg and 212kg in the clean and jerk. His final attempt at 217kg was unsuccessful, leaving him just short of the title.
The silver medal further boosted India’s strong weightlifting campaign in Glasgow and highlighted Lovepreet’s consistency and ability to perform under pressure on the international stage.
