Litton Das Bangladesh ODI captain
Bangladesh have appointed Litton Das as their new ODI captain, replacing Mehidy Hasan Miraz following the team’s recent series defeat to Zimbabwe.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed that Litton, who already leads the T20I side, will now captain the white-ball teams ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup. BCB president Tamim Iqbal said the board has adopted a split-captaincy model, with Najmul Hossain Shanto continuing as Test captain. Tamim praised Miraz’s leadership but admitted his recent dip in batting form influenced the decision. Litton previously led Bangladesh to an ODI series win over India in 2022.
Tamim also expressed optimism that Bangladesh’s scheduled home ODI series against India in September will go ahead.
