Latham And Conway Smash Record As New Zealand Dominate First Day Of Decisive Test Against England

New Zealand openers Tom Latham and Devon Conway produced a historic performance on the first day of the third Test against England at Trent Bridge, breaking a 95-year-old record.

The pair scored centuries and shared a record 317-run opening partnership before England fought back late in the day. Latham made 151 while Conway scored 157 as New Zealand reached 361-4 at stumps.

Ben Stokes led England’s comeback by dismissing Latham, while Conway fell soon after. The previous record partnership of 276 between Stewie Dempster and Jackie Mills from 1930 was surpassed during the dominant batting display.
