Root, England’s most successful Test captain with 27 wins in 65 matches, will lead the side in the upcoming three-Test series against Pakistan. Marcus Trescothick will serve as interim coach before Fleming takes charge later this year. Root called Fleming an exceptional leader, while the former New Zealand captain expressed excitement about working with the prolific batter.
